The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) national council late on Thursday evening harmonised the slates for the September 11 parliamentary election and contrary to media speculation, HDZ deputy chief Milijan Brkic will not be at the helm of any slate, but candidate no.14 on the slate for Constituency no. 2.
"This was an agreement, but also his wish," HDZ chief Andrej Plenkovic told the press in the party headquarters.
The slate in Constituency no. 2 is headed by member of the European Parliament Ivana Maletic, while the slate in Constituency no. 3 will be led by Zarko Tusek.
Miroslav Tudjman will be the first name on the slate for Constituency no.4, Zdravko Maric in Constituency no. 5, Goran Maric in Constituency no.6, Davor Stier in Constituency no. 7, Oleg Butkovic in Constituency no. 8, Branka Juricev Martincev in Constituency no. 9, Damir Krsticevic in Constituency no. 10, and Bozo Ljubic in Constituency no. 11.
HDZ chief Plenkovic will be at the helm of the slate for Constituency no. 1.
Plenkovic said the HDZ would submit the candidate slates to the State Election Comission on Saturday. The party's economic platform will be presented either or Saturday or on Tuesday, Plenkovic said.
