HDZ fears every 2nd young Croat considering emigrating

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Patriotic Coalition led by HDZ official Miljan Brkic in the 4th constituency on Thursday addressed students in Virovitica and warned that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) led government had not kept its promise to open jobs which has led to more than 50% of young people considering emigrating, HDZ has reported.

"They promised us jobs but did not doing anything. Instead of jobs in the country, each week people who have graduated are departing the country as a matter of their survival. More than 50% of young people are considering leaving Croatia. Most people leaving Slavonia are heading to Ireland," students told HDZ's candidates, according to the HDZ statement.

They underscored that it was not possible to live from false promises and that real changes were needed. "We just want to know what we can count on," students were quoted by the HDZ statement as saying.
