Gov't okays car lease buyout and purchase of new vehicles for Interior Ministry

The government on Wednesday adopted a decision allowing the buyout of 32 leased vehicles for special police tasks and the purchase of 23 new multifunctional vehicles for intensified border control, as part of preparations of the Interior Ministry for entering the Schengen regime.

The car lease buyout is worth more than two million kuna, including VAT.

The purchase of new vehicles will cost a little more than HRK 21.5 million, with taxes. Of that amount, 17.25 million has been secured from the Schengen Programme and HRK 4.3 million will be allocated from the state budget.
