Students are the future and guarantee for quality connections, French Ambassador Michele Boccoz said in Zagreb on Friday during a graduation ceremony of the seventh class of bioindustry students from the University of Zagreb and the University of Orleans.
The ambassador said that this was the reason why she had come to the ceremony despite the tragedy caused by a terrorist attack in Nice on Thursday that claimed the lives of more than 80 victims.
She congratulated the graduates at the ceremony held in the main office of Zagreb University.
Cooperation between the University of Zagreb and University of Orleans in the bioindustry programme is based on a cooperation agreement signed by the heads of the two universities in November 2007. The agreement makes it possible for students studying molecular biotechnology and bioprocessing engineering at the University of Zagreb to attend some of the classes at the University of Orleans and do practical work in French companies, thus qualifying for a master's degree from the University of Orleans.
Addressing the ceremony, the head of Zagreb University, Professor Damir Boras, praised the French embassy as a valuable partner to the university in the Croatian capital.
