First official meeting between president and PM on Tuesday

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic will hold their first official meeting on Tuesday.

This will be their first meeting since Oreskovic took office and the first in a series of regular meetings between the president and the prime minister to discuss current affairs, the President's Office told Hina.

The president, in cooperation with the government, directs the work of the security services through the National Security Council, whose decisions and appointments of the heads of security-intelligence services are co-signed by both the president and the prime minister.

Media speculates that one of the topics to be discussed will be the replacement of the head of the SOA security-intelligence agency, Dragan Lozancic, because he did not inform the president that she had been in contact with a person who was under surveillance, even though Lozancic had disclosed this information to former Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

Considering that the president, in cooperation with the government, dismisses the chief of staff of the armed forces and army commanders, media speculates that the talks on Tuesday will focus on candidates for the position of Chief of Staff as the current Chief of Staff Drago Lovric's term expires on 1 March.
