Ex-defence minister fined HRK 30,000 for allowing Russian company to pay his flight

The Conflict of Interest Commission on Thursday fined former Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovic HRK 30,000 for flying to Mali Losinj in a private plane because the flight was paid by a company that seeks to acquire a piece of state-owned land on Losinj island.

The Commission said Kotromanovic had been in conflict of interest because the flight was paid by a foreign entity, namely Russian capital which could have brought him in a dependant position towards that company.

Kotromanovic did not exercise his right to voice his opinion on this case.
