Everything ready for Friday's inaugural parliament session

Outgoing parliament speaker Zeljko Reiner confirmed on Wednesday that everything was ready for Friday's inaugural session of the new parliament.

Parliament will on Friday elect deputy speakers, form all committees, elect their chairpeople and their deputies, Reiner said but declined to reveal whether or not he would be one of the deputy speakers.

He said that parliament would be constituted with the election of speaker.

After taking an oath, the new speaker will propose the agenda, Reiner said adding that the plan was to resume work immediately on Friday and debate and adopt several fundamental laws important for the government formation.

"We decided to wrap this up on Friday and if necessary we will burn the midnight out," he added.
