Dubrovnik mayor indicted for corruption

The USKOK anti-fraud office has indicted Dubrovnik Mayor Andro Vlahusic of the Croatian People's Party (HNS) for defrauding the city budget of more than HRK 3 million by enabling Luksa Frankovic to open a catering establishment at Revelin fort.

The indictment filed at Split's County Court charges Vlahusic and Frankovic with abuse of office, incitement to abuse of office, tax evasion and book-keeping fraud from May 2010 to December 2014.

Vlahusic has already been given a suspended sentence for unlawfully lending HRK 2 million from the Dubrovnik city budget to a private company.
