Dobrovic, EU commissioner discuss policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Croatian Environment and Nature Protection Minister Slaven Dobrovic met with European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

"The European Union is very active in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is a global leader in that regard and sets very optimistic goals," Dobrovic told the press, adding that he and the commissioner discussed figures and possibilities for such actions in Croatia.

"The situation in Croatia in that regard is good, although it may, to a large extent, be the result of a drop in economic activities. Nevertheless, Croatia has a very great potential for reducing emissions," he added.
