Croatia's unemployment rate down for fifth consecutive month

The registered unemployment rate in June 2016 fell to 13.6 percent from 14.4% in May, the national statistical office said on Friday.

In June 2016, registered unemployment decreased 0.8 percentage points monthly and 2.5 pp annually.

The decrease for the fifth consecutive month was expected, given that 219,491 jobless were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) at the end of June 2016, down 5.5% on the month

Today 218,814 jobless are registered with the HZZ, about 600 fewer than at the end of June.
