Industrial producer prices in Croatia fell by 5.5% in July 2016 compared with July 2015, which is the 39th consecutive month that they have decreased on the annual level, according to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Friday.
Broken down by activity, producer prices in the manufacturing industry fell by 5.2%, in mining and quarrying by 14.1%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 5.6%, and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities by 1.7%.
Compared with June 2016, producer prices in July 2016 decreased by 0.8%. Prices of industrial products on the domestic market were 0.7% lower and those on foreign markets were 1% lower in July.
Analysts of Raiffeisenbank said producer prices were expected to continue decreasing in the coming months, primarily due to deflationary pressures caused by low prices of energy products on foreign commodity markets.
