Croatia's employment rate in April up 1.3% month on month

The number of gainfully employed people in Croatia in April, compared with March, increased by 17,173 persons or 1.3% to 1.35 million, which was the first monthly increase since the start of the year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

Figures from the National Employment Service (HZZ) show that 254,591 job seekers were registered with the HZZ at the end of April, or 7.9% less than the previous month.

The registered unemployment rate fell to 15.9% from 17.2% in March.

Compared with April 2015, employment dropped by 1.1%.
