Croatia's President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Friday held an informal reception for foreign diplomats in the Istrian village of Livade and on that occasion they visited the ongoing White Truffle Fair.
According to a statement on the web site of the Office of the President, the "informal socializing of the president with the heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to the Republic of Croatia was organised within the framework of the initiative 'Sense Croatia'."
"The goal of 'Sense Croatia' is to acquaint the heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations with the advantages and possibilities of all parts of Croatia and thus, after Vukovar and Pag, Istria will be presented."
During the tour of Livade, the President delivered a speech saying that she was confident that foreign diplomats would enjoy their stay in Istria and acquaint themselves with the scenery and resources of that biggest Croatian peninsula.
The mayor of Livade told the guests that Livade and the municipality of Oprtalj had stared the promotion of the local white truffle in 1994.
"Today, we are proud of the fact that the entire world knows about Livade," Mayor Aleksander Krt said.
