Croatian president extends best wishes for Rosh Hashanah

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic has extended her best wishes to the Jewish faithful in Croatia for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, her office said in a press release on Friday.

"On the occasion of the holiday of Rosh Hashanah, which celebrates the beginning of the new year 5777 according to the Jewish calendar, President of the Republic Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic has sent a message to Jewish believers in Croatia wishing them that this holiday brings happiness, joy and peace to every home," the message says.

A celebration of Rosh Hashanah will be held at the Zagreb Jewish Community centre on Sunday October 2, starting with evening prayer at 6.30pm.
