The director of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ), Ratomir Ivicic, on Monday requested to be relieved of his duties and a call for applications for this post will be published in a month.
Ivicic, whose request for the termination of his employment contract was unanimously accepted by the HTZ Council, will perform the duty until the appointment of his successor.
Ivicic has been at the helm of the HTZ since mid-2014.
This year's budget of the HTZ , "a national tourist organisation founded with a view to promoting and creating the identity, and to enhance the reputation of, Croatian tourism," stands at 260 million kuna.
"The mission also includes the planning and implementation of a common strategy and the conception of its promotion, proposal and the performance of promotional activities of mutual interest for all subjects in tourism in the country and abroad, as well as raising the overall quality of the whole range of tourist services on offer in the Republic of Croatia."
