Croatian deputy PM receives newly-appointed US ambassador

Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko on Wednesday received the newly-appointed US Ambassador to Croatia, Juliete Valls Noyes, the government press service said in a statement.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between Croatia and the United States and readiness to intensify cooperation in all areas, including trade, and to foster the partnership between the two countries.

The talks also focused on relations with neighbouring countries.

Karamarko particularly emphasised relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the importance of its full sovereignty and equality for all three constituent peoples in that country.

Noyes stressed the importance of cooperation between the neighbouring countries, the European Union and the United States.

It was concluded that good cooperation was particularly needed with Serbia and Slovenia in light of the migrant crisis, the statement said.
