Croatian Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Korzinek and her Montenegrin counterpart Janko Ljumovic held a working meeting in Zagreb on Wednesday at which they signed a memorandum on cooperation in the protection of the underwater cultural heritage.
Ljumovic underlined the importance of the agreement for tourism and sustainable development.
He expressed satisfaction that he would attend, later in the day, the opening of an exhibition by the great Croatian and Montenegrin artist Dimitrije Popovic.
Obuljen Korzinek said today's talks focused on a number of topics - from the protection of heritage, cooperation in UNESCO and future joint nominations to possible cooperation in preparations for EU-funded projects.
The two ministers also discussed cooperation between theatres, film projects, and publications of Croatian authors in Montenegro and of Montenegrin authors in Croatia.
Obuljen Korzinek said Croatia would continue to help Montenegro on its path to the EU.
