Croatia among EU countries with biggest decline in industrial producer prices

In August this year Croatia was among EU countries that recorded the greatest decrease in industrial producer prices, both on the year and on the month.

According to figures released by the EU's statistical office Eurostat, industrial producer prices in Croatia dropped 5% in August compared to the same month of 2015. Industrial producer prices in Luxembourg dropped 7.1%, in the Netherlands they went down 6.6% and in Slovakia 4.9%.

The annual decline in industrial producer prices in Croatia was the same as its decline compared to the previous month.

Only Great Britain, Malta, Sweden and Poland reported an annual increase in industrial producer prices in August, ranging from 0.1% to 1.4%.

At the EU level, the annual decrease in industrial producer prices was 1.6% as against a 2.3% decline in July. Prices of energy and intermediary goods dropped the most on the year, by 4.9% and 1.6% respectively.
