Commemoration for Paris terror victims to be held in Zagreb Friday

A commemoration for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Paris will be held in Zagreb on Friday.

The event, scheduled to start at 17:00 hours, will be held under the slogan "Zagreb for Paris", French Ambassador to Croatia Michele Boccoz and Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic told a joint news conference on Thursday.

Boccoz thanked the residents of Zagreb and Croatia for many messages of support and friendship extended after the November 13 terror attack in Paris. She particularly thanked Zagreb for launching this initiative.

The images of the Museum of Contemporary arts and the Zagreb Fountains, painted in the colours of the French flag, are strong symbols of solidarity of Croatia's capital with the capital of France, Boccoz said. She added that Split and other Croatian cities had also paid their respects to the victims of the terrorist attack.

Mayor Bandic thanked in advance all those who will attend the Friday commemoration.
