China willing to link its initiatives with Croatia's development goals

China is willing to link some of its initiatives with Croatia's development goals, Du Qinglin, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, said at a meeting with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in Zagreb on Friday, the president's office said in a press release.

Du said he was pleased with the accomplishments of Grabar-Kitarovic's recent visit to China, assessing it as very important because of the more substantial and more dynamic cooperation agreed. Du said the purpose of his visit was to launch the implementation of a political agreement between Grabar-Kitarovic and Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at launching projects in tourism, infrastructure, production and tourism.

Du highlighted Croatia's geographical position as a gateway for Chinese investors to the European Union, saying China was willing to link its initiatives, notably 16+1 and One Belt One Road, with Croatia's development goals.

Du and Grabar-Kitarovic also discussed the possibility of stronger cultural and regional cooperation.
