Changes in position of public broadcaster (HRT) programmes director

Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) acting director-general Sinisa Kovacic has appointed Jozo Barisic, a long standing journalist and editor of the national broadcaster, as acting director of the HRT programmes, thus replacing Sasa Runjic.

Barisic started working for the Croatian Television's (HTV) news programme in 1993.

A press release issued by HRT on Wednesday does not give reasons for Runjic's dismissal.

A few days ago Runjic took over full responsibility for broadcasting a 45-minute news conference of the then HRT Director-General Goran Radman live on Channel 4, which the Programming Council found to be an omission of the public broadcaster.
