Bridge candidates alert of women's under-representation on slates

Presenting its election platform in Rijeka on Monday, six female Bridge candidates including former MP Ines Strenja Linic said that the party wanted to draw attention to the importance of stronger participation of women in politics because, Strenja Linic underscored, women are under-represented on party slates and have to work a lot harder to be included on them.

Reflecting on Bridge's health platform Strenja Linic said that health benefits had to be accessible to everyone.

"The essential tasks are to financially stabilise Croatia's health system, to stop the drain of health personnel, continue the reform of primary health care and make mergers in the hospital system with the aim of rationalisation," she said.

Outgoing Bridge minister Dubravka Jurlina Alibegovic presented the party's public administration reform aimed at establishing an efficient, speedy and cheap service. Bridge is offering the rationalisation of the entire public administration sector, the reduction of state agencies, she said.

The most important points of Bridge's economic platform are tax breaks, boosting consumption and exports, increasing investments in education and research, Bridge member Tea Golja said.

Petra Mandic spoke about labour legislation, elements of regional development and Sonja Bosnjak spoke about the absorption of European Union funds while Ivana Nincevic Lesandric spoke of the importance to establish entrepreneurial centres and their mutual networking.
