Bank deposits at the end of June 2016 totalled HRK 255.4 billion, up 1.4% on the month, according to Croatian National Bank figures, Raiffeisenbank Austria said on Friday.
In June 2016, all deposits continued to increase on the year as well, by 4.6%. Compared to the end of 2015, however, they decreased 0.6%. The year-on-year increase in total deposits was also due to an increase in deposits in the domestic currency, which totalled HRK 35.6 billion at the end of June 2016.
Retail deposits at the end of June 2016 totalled nearly HRK 164 billion, nearly the same as in May but down 0.7% on the year, decreasing for the fifth consecutive month.
Corporate deposits increased by 1.6% on the month, to HRK 29.8 billion, and by 27.1% on the year. In the first half of the year, corporate deposits went down 2.6% from December 2015.
