Air Berlin to introduce Duesseldorf-Pula flights during summer season

Germany's Air Berlin airline is to introduce a weekly flight service between Duesseldorf and Pula during the summer season as of Wednesday 13 July to 17 August, Pula Airport reported on Tuesday.

In a press release, the airport authorities note that Air Berlin is Germany's second largest airline after Lufthansa and the ninth largest air company in Europe based on the number of passengers. It has a fleet of 120 planes flying to more than 170 destinations on the Mediterranean and elsewhere.

The majority owner of the Air Berlin group is Etihad Airways after it bought a 29.21% share in the airline in December 2012. The company then had 9,284 employees and that same year it transported 33.3 million passengers. It was established in 1978 as Air Berlin USA.

Pula Airport said that the fare of the Pula-Duesseldorf flight will be 150 euros.
