New car sales in Croatia in June up 32% y-o-y

In Croatia, 6,244 new cars were sold in June 2016, an increase of 32.1% over June 2015, while in the first half of the year 26,387 vehicles were sold, or 22.3% more than in the same period of last year, according to figures provided by the Promocija Plus market research agency.

The best-selling car brand in June was Opel with 937 new vehicles sold, followed by Volkswagen (868), Renault (627) and Ford (560). In the first half of the year Volkswagen sold 3,661 vehicles, Opel 2,932 and Renault 2,411.

The best-selling model in June was the Opel Corsa with 361 units sold, followed by the Renault Clio (357) and the VW Golf (323). In the first half of the year the best-selling models were the Renault Clio (1,367), the VW Golf (1,361), the Ford Focus (1,213), the Opel Astra (1,203) and the Skoda Octavia (1,088).

Petrol cars accounted for 42% of the new cars sold, diesel cars accounted for 56.6%, and the rest were cars powered by other types of fuel.
