MCZ pellet stoves factory opened in Labin

A EUR 4.5-million factory producing pellet stoves and fireplaces was inaugurated in the Vinez business zone in the Istrian town of Labin last Thursday

The investor is the MCZ Group from the Italian city of Pordenone, and it has invested 4.5 million euros so far in this project and plans to invest an additional million euros next year.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the MCZ Group owner and president, Giacomo Zanette, said that currently, 35 workers were employed in the plant and that the same number of new workers would be soon hired.

MCZ Group Director-General  Walter Breda said the company had been established in 1975, and currently its products were wood-burning stoves, wood fireplaces, fireplace inserts, fireplace claddings, gas fireplaces apart from pellet-fuel heaters. They are sold in over 40 countries.

There are over 400 people on the group's payroll.

Istria County Prefect Valter Flego welcomed the opening of the factory that enabled job creation.
