The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) has signed a EUR 150 million agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance medium-capitalised companies, the HBOR said on Tuesday.
The agreement is part of a EUR 800 million loan agreement for financing small and medium-sized companies and mid-cap companies, which was signed in 2014.
The funds are intended for financing mid-cap companies in the industrial, services, tourism and other sectors, as well as public and private companies investing in knowledge-based, infrastructure and environmental projects. They can be lent to financial beneficiaries either directly or through commercial banks cooperating with the HBOR.
Mid-cap companies are defined as those with more than 250 and fewer than 3,000 employees.
