Good chance for Italian ABS company to relaunch production in Sisak steel mill

There is a good chance that the Italian ABS company will relaunch production in the Sisak steel mill, which was discontinued last year due to the economic crisis and an unfavourable price of steel on the European market, Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Croatia Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani said in the central Croatian town of Sisak on Wednesday.

The Italian diplomat held talks with leaders of Sisak-Moslavina Country and the City of Sisak.

Before arriving in Sisak, I spoke with the ABS director general, who said the company was considering the possibility of renewing production in Sisak, Chiodi Cianfarani said, adding that the Italian company Metall Energi planned to invest into a plant which the ABS would supply with energy.

The ambassador said that cooperation between Italian companies and the Sisak Culinary Institute was growing and was expected to be further advance. Given that Italy is Croatia's number one partner in investments and trade, I am excited to hear about possibilities of new investments in your county, he said.
