EUR 17 mn cogeneration plant inaugurated

Croatia's timber processing company Slavonija Drvna Industrija has launched its new 4.6 megawatt (MW) cogeneration plant in the eastern town of Slavonski Brod on Friday.

The EUR 17 million plant has been in operation for the past two months and the company is using it for the production of power and technical fumes used in wood processing. The project created 20 jobs.

Present at Friday's inauguration of the plant was Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina.

This plant is fueled by bio-mass resulted following wood processing activities.

Slavonija DI, headquartered in Slavonski Brod, produces sliced and peeled veneer, sawn timber and solid flooring.
