Croatia's Skladgradnja selected as partner in building Montenegro motorway

The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has selected Croatia's Skladgradnja civil engineering company as a partner in the construction of a south-north motorway in Montenegro.

The two companies signed a EUR 34.5 million agreement in Podgorica on Tuesday in the presence of the Croatian ambassador to Montenegro, Ivana Peric. The agreement covers the construction of bridges, tunnels and underpasses.

Skladgradnja CEO Slaven Zuzul was quoted by Montenegrin media as saying that he was pleased that his company had been selected among tough competitors and was looking forward to cooperating with a major Chinese company.

Work on the Smokovac-Uvac-Matesevo section of the Bar-Boljare motorway is expected to begin in a month and last about two years. Zuzul said his company would engage about 200 workers for the project.
