Croatian rolling stock company to make locomotives for U.S. partner

The Gredelj Rolling Stock Factory and the U.S. National Railway Equipment Company (NRE) have concluded a contract for the manufacturing of seven diesel locomotives for freight trains along non-electric rail-lines, the Zagreb-based company stated in a press release on Thursday.

The latest contract is a result of long-standing cooperation between the Croatian company and its U.S. partner.

Gredelj's bankruptcy trustee Pero Hrkac was quoted as saying that he was satisfied with the continuation of cooperation. He noted that since it went into official receivership, the Gredelj Rolling Stock Factory has manufactured over 40 locomotives.

Locomotives, coaches, trams and other products manufactured by this Croatian factory meet international standards and are adaptable to all rail profiles, according to the press release.
