Large forest fire rages across Greek island

A forest fire on the Greek island of Thasos in the northern Aegean Sea has destroyed several homes.

The fire service deployed hundreds of firefighters, seven planes and a helicopter to tackle the blaze on Sunday, which broke out after a lightning storm.

One firefighter was injured.

Nearly 20 forest fires were reported over the weekend across Greece.
